Kala village, China's birdcage capital

Kala village in Guizhou province has a 400-year history for birdcage weaving and is considered China's Birdcage Center.

The villagers there, mostly ethnic Miao and Dong people, have excellent birdcage-weaving skills. Roughly 125 of all the 151 households in the village work in the weaving business, with a yearly output of 100,000 birdcages.

Birdcages from Kala village are renowned at home and abroad and are sold all over the world.
