A six-day Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition will open to the public on Sept 9 at the local culture center in Southwest China's Guizhou province, a tribute to the Guizhou International Alcoholic Beverage Expo. Artwork on display will embody China's 5,000-year wine culture and history.

Chinese wine has bred numerous remarkable poets, painters, writers and calligraphers. Many contemporary artists plan to attend the exhibition, including Liu Dawei, Feng Yuan, Zhang He, Shen Peng and Yu Jian, to name a few.

World-renowned artists from Taiwan, Japan and Korea were also invited.

Vice-Chairman of the National Painting Academy Li Baolin, Director of the Chinese Arts Association Yang Jiayong, and Deputy-Dean of the Chinese Calligraphy Association Yan Gongda, along with nine others, are expected to improvise artistic works during the exhibition.
