Luocheng Mulam autonomous county is located in the northeast of Hechi city and is the only Mulam autonomous county in China. Covering an area of 2,658 square kilometers, it had a population of 383,200 by the end of 2018.

Among the local population are 290,800 people from different ethnic groups, including Mulam, Zhuang, Yao, Miao and Dong. Among them are 124,700 from the Mulam ethnic group, accounting for 33.16 percent of the county's total population.

With its striking karst topography, Luocheng is covered by dense mountains, ravines and valleys, providing plenty of scenic areas for tourists to visit. The county has a 3A-level scenic spot - Chenglong Lake Park, three 2A-level scenic spots, namely Wuyang River, Jianjiang River and Qingming Mountain, and a number of key rural tourist areas.

It is also known throughout China for its wild downy grapes. Wild downy grape wine, milk wine, tea, mushroom, black fungus, and beef strips are just some of its most famous specialties.

 

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
