A short video contest on silk culture and a live streaming contest to sell agricultural products were held in Yizhou district, Hechi from Nov 10 to 26.

The event aimed to highlight alternatives to traditional sales channels and further promote poverty alleviation efforts through e-commerce, bolstering Yizhou's silk culture, training more talents, as well as promoting the district's economic development through online and offline multi-dimensional interactions.

After fierce competition, more than 100 contestants eventually entered the finals and six people won prizes.

During the finals, short video broadcasts reached 1.45 million views, while the live streaming room was popular with more than 1 million viewers. The cumulative live streams brought 1,046 orders, with sales reaching 61,272 yuan ($9,338.02).

The holding of this competition was an innovative activity to discover and cultivate local live-streaming talents, as well as to stimulate market consumption vitality. This has helped boost the confidence of local enterprises, further enhanced Yizhou's popularity, and helped sell local products all over the country.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
