Tourism, agriculture develops in Yizhou

Yizhou district, Hechi city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has taken full advantage of its natural resources and is seeing impressive development in its agriculture and tourism industries.

According to statistics, Yizhou received 4,196,700 tourists from January to September 2018, an increase of 30.27 percent over the same period the previous year. Tourists spent a total of 6.38 billion yuan ($938 million), up 33.98 percent.

Low-income families in Yizhou were incentivized to plant sugarcane, nuts, and peppers and raise silkworms. A variety of methods were suggested to help people shake off poverty. Currently, more than 94 percent of local low-income families in Yizhou are involved in agriculture.

According to officials, there are a total of 174 characteristic industrial centers in Yizhou, generating many jobs.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
