Primary schools in Dahua Yao autonomous county, Hechi, in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, have focused this year on presenting traditional Chinese opera to students.

The move is meant to enrich students' spiritual and cultural lives and to stimulate their interests in traditional Chinese culture.

The county has distributed CDs of Chinese opera movies and general knowledge materials to 77 schools located in remote areas with relatively backward instructional resources. More than 30 schools have carried out the opera activity over the first half of 2018.

Moreover, literary and art volunteers have performed some famous Peking Operas at schools in urban areas, offering students a chance to experience traditional Chinese culture.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
