Patriotic documentary to have Zhuang version

Donglan county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region recently began translating and dubbing the film "Amazing China" into the Zhuang ethnic language, reigniting patriotic fervor across Zhuang regions of China.

In response to a call from the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Donglan authorities are aiming to create a stronger ethnic identity and a sense of national pride in hopes of boosting the development of ethnic minority areas.

Requirements state that the content should be accurately translated and sentences should be arranged so as to sync with the images in the film.

The production will be completed and hit local screens by around July 1.

Donglan county is one of the eight counties in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region authorized to translate and dub films in ethnic minority languages.

The Zhuang language version of the film "Tangshan Earthquake" was translated and dubbed by the Zhuang language dubbing unit of Donglan county and was praised as an outstanding film translated into an ethnic minority language in 2013.

The 90-minute documentary, coproduced by China Central Television and China Film Co Ltd, records the social and economic achievements in China over the past five years.

Released on March 2, the film includes the world's largest radio telescope, FAST; the world's largest maritime drilling rig, Blue Whale 2 and the development of 5G mobile technology.

The movie will be translated into 35 dialects and 17 ethnic languages.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
