Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has beefed up its investment in the construction of its transport infrastructure.

The city has just completed the investment of 3.71 billion yuan ($555.61 million) in its highway and water transport from January to July, with year-on-year growth of 15.3 percent. Of which, around 2.49 billion yuan has gone to the Hechi-Baise Highway project, which foresees a total investment of 13.5 billion yuan.

The third quarter will also see construction starting on four secondary roads.

The city plans to open another three highway projects and upgrade 1,500 kilometers of sub-par roads.
