Zhuzhu Festival, also known as Danu Festival, is the most important traditional festival for the Yao ethnic group, falls on June 23 this year.

People of the Yao ethnic group in Dahua Yao autonomous county, Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, celebrated the festival to welcome the beginning of local New Year.

A wide range of activities were organized for the 3-day celebrations, including folk custom and culture performances, spinning top, cross-bow shooting, and some competitions, all of which displayed the profound cultural riches and spiritual features of the Bunu Yao ethnic group.

Hechi is located in the northwestern part of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region and the southern foothills of the Yungui Plateau.
