Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region experienced 347 days of good air in 2016, 95 percent of the whole year, according to the city environmental protection bureau.

Statistics from the bureau reveal that PM10 (particulate matter), a major index to check air quality, reached a record low 55.23 micrograms per cubic meter, a 19.5 percent decrease year-on-year.

Furthermore, the bureau held strict tests on the water from major rivers such as Hongshui, Longjiang and Diaojiang River, recording levels for 21 different indexes, such as copper, cadmium, and lead.

The test results revealed that Hechi's water remains good enough to drink according to national standards.
