Donglan county in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region is an area of unique natural beauty, combining towering mountains, winding rivers, and dense lush forests.

In a bid to capture nature at its most pure, photographer Wei Ludong from the county's publicity department has released a series of images embodying the spirit of nature and to spread the message of conservation.

A Donglan-native, Wei says that if awareness is not improved and action not taken, then the natural splendor captured in his lens may soon be gone. "For me, the happiest thing is to take good photos which can inspire and encourage others to care more."

Contracted to Xinhua News Agency, Wei has won several national awards and his works have been published across all levels of newspapers and periodicals.

Wei is a permanent member of Chinese Folklore Photography Association, a member of Guangxi Art Photography Institute, and director of the Donglan Photography Association.
