Huanjiang unshelves first reading festival

The Huanjiang Maonan autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi, launched its first national reading festival on March 28, aimed at promoting the joy of reading and the power of knowledge to the public.

At the opening ceremony, the organizers presented more than 200 books to seven schools and 20 students. During the festival, which runs from March 28 to April 10, organizers will also arrange for temporary reading stations at the National Culture Square and offer discounted prices on books.

The festival is jointly organized by Huanjiang's publicity department, the cultural, broadcasting, press and sports bureau, the education bureau, the Youth League Committee and the local postal service branch.
