A new wave of creative nest libraries attracts students' attention in Guilin Medical University in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The "bird nest libraries" proved to be very popular among students in the university.
The university has installed a total of 20 wooden boxes, shaped like bird nests, full of books, around the university campus. Each box has 20 books at first and is open to the public 24 hours a day for free.
However, those who borrow a book need to replace it with another one by putting a book in the box. Although with no librarian supervision, every one obeys the rule spontaneously and the "bird nest libraries" remain full of books.
The "bird nest libraries" were first established in April 2014 and have lent more than 100,000 books in various fields.
