A media interview team arrived in Yizhou on May 30 as the last stop of their Guangxi tour.

The team visited Guangxi Jialian Silk Company's silkworm breeding workshop, reeling silk manufacturing shop, cocoon silk exhibition hall and product sales exhibition room.

According to Zhou Fei, Yizhou's deputy Party secretary, Yizhou will develop cocoon silk recycling economy and establish a demonstration base. It plans to popularize new technology in silk production, promote quality raw cocoon production and establish a Yizhou-ASEAN International Cocoons Silk Trading Center.

Yizhou is the biggest silkworm-producing county nationwide and has become Guangxi's biggest producer of white steam filature in recent years. It has 20 companies doing business in cocoon silk. In 2015, the mulberry fields reach 328,000 mu (21,866 hectares) and the fresh cocoon output is expected to be 55,000 tons, bringing 2.5 billion yuan ($403.3 million) to local farmers.
