The education department of Nandan county in Hechi, Guangxi, offered a special fund totaling to 66 million yuan ($10.55 million) for school projects in 2014. The fund is extended to 50 schools and will go towards such things as the maintenance and reconstruction of rural primary and secondary schools, and the construction of rural teacher dormitories and public rental housing.

The 29.03 million yuan construction project of 26 compulsory education schools is underway, with a plan to construct and maintain a total of 16,347 square meters of school buildings.

The infrastructure construction of the teacher housing project in Nandan has been completed and is now moving on to the main phase of construction. The construction of teaching and student dorm buildings for the No Four Primary School, Luofu Village Central Primary School, Chengguan’en Village Primary School, Chehe Central Primary School and Luofu Yulan Primary School has entered into the survey and design phase. The entire housing project has a budget of 17.95 million yuan.

The input of the special fund further improved the infrastructure construction of Nandan’s primary and secondary schools, especially in rural schools, which helped balance the development of local urban and rural education.
