The Zhanjiang-ASEAN Agriculture Fair is the first international fair of its kind to be held in the city. Kicking off on June 2, the four-day event attracted 180,000 visitors and saw a staggering 2.57 billion yuan ($389.7 million) worth of agreements signed.
Various activities were held during the fair, including a drone summit, a cross-Straits agriculture tourism forum and a seminar on innovation development in agriculture.
The event is part of the city's efforts to develop into an important pivot city along the Belt and Road Initiative and improve its role in economic and trade cooperation between Guangdong, or even China, and ASEAN.
