See colorful Gansu county through artists' pens

Paintings and calligraphic works about Wenxian county located in Longnan city, Gansu province will be on display at the Gansu Museum in Lanzhou city, capital of the province from March 19. Some 50 artworks by 13 artists will be on display for 13 days.

Wenxian county was the first stop in Longnan for the artists' tour.

The 13 calligraphers and painters visited Bikou ancient town, Yulei township and Tielou township in Wenxian, where they captured the beautiful ecological environment, quaint villages and hospitalized villagers through their pens.

Know about Wenxian county

Wenxian county is known as the "hometown of pandas" since its Baishuijiang National Reserve is home to one tenth of the pandas in China.

The county is also famous for local specialties such as Chinese prickly ash, tricholoma mastutake and agaric.

The beautiful scenery in Tianchi National Forest Park and the stockaded villages of the Baima Tibetan ethnic group draw tourists from home and abroad every year.

The county has a land area of around 5,000 square kilometers and a population of 240,090 (2012).
