BUCT biomedicine roadshow held in Zhongguancun

Wang Feng, vice president of BUCT, said that the university has always attached importance to the transformation of sci-tech achievements in Zhongguancun to serve the enterprises in parks.

He hoped the meeting could speed up the transformation and practices of advanced sci-tech achievements under the support of various parks and help upgrade Beijing's advanced economic structure and realize high-quality development.

Four biomedical materials were released at the roadshow, namely, "Broccoli Active Anticancer Food" by the team headed by Yuan Qipeng, a Changjiang Scholar from the Ministry of Education of the BUCT; "New Artificial Cervical Intervertebral Disc" jointly developed by Zhang Liqun, a distinguished professor with the Changjiang Scholars Program.of the Ministry of Education and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and Tian Wei, president of Bejing Jishuitan Hospital; "Antibacterial and Anticoagulant TPU Medical Polymer Materials" by Ding Xuejia; and "Natural Polysaccharide-based Medical Materials" by Xu Fujian, a Changjiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education and a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.

This roadshow project aims to give full play to the role of universities and research institutions as the source of sci-tech achievements transformation so as to further the transformation of advanced sci-tech achievements related to biomedical and medical materials in the relevant biomedical industrial parks and bases in Zhongguancun.

As part of the Beijing venue in 2019 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week (MEIW), the event was sponsored by BUCT, along with its Technology Transfer Center.

Attendees include Weng Qiwen, deputy director of Zhongguancun Management Committee, and Wang Feng, vice president of the BUCT, and over 50 medical and investment enterprises, hospitals, and scientific and technological service platforms from Beijing, Shandong, and Hebei.
