The launching ceremony of the Zhongguancun International Youth Entrepreneurship Platform was held in the global innovation community of Zhongguancun Innoway on the afternoon of April 2. The entrepreneurial platform was jointly established by the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and Haidian district.

Located in the core area of Zhongguancun, the platform aims to attract young innovators and entrepreneurs around the globe to start businesses or pursue their dreams in China.

Officials of the Beijing Talent Bureau and diplomatic envoys from France, Australia, Norway, Singapore, Spain and Slovakia as well as representatives from well-known enterprises and international institutions attended the event.

Innovation and entrepreneurship are the eternal driving force of social progress, and youth is their main force.

To create an open, innovative and talent-inclusive environment and improve Beijing’s internationalization, Zhongguancun seized the moment and spared no efforts to build a docking and exchange platform for global resources.

The target groups of the platform are overseas undergraduates (graduated later than 2011), graduates and doctors (graduated later than 2014). Their high-quality projects with technical reserves and good market potential will be supported here.

The Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, together with the Haidian district, will provide one-stop consultation services, convenient entry and exit policies and a comprehensive support system for talent development as well as various application scenarios and broad market space.

Talent is the core competitiveness of Zhongguancun. In recent years, the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee and relevant departments launched policies such as an "Express green card" for foreign talents.

These policies will facilitate foreign talents in corporate registration, intellectual property rights, legal services, investment and financing services, and similar matters.

Currently, there are more than 10,000 foreign workers, and over 40,000 overseas returnees in Zhongguancun. It has become a gathering place for outstanding talents from home and abroad.

After the ceremony, six exemplary projects among the first batch of enterprises entering the global youth platform presented a roadshow involving artificial intelligence, big data, robotics, space integration and other frontier sci-tech programs.

The entrepreneurial teams came from Sweden, the United States, Russia, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Spain, Denmark and other countries.

Open Motors from the United States is dedicated to the research and development of new energy vehicles. Its founders have long worked for companies like Ferrari and Lamborghini, and its products are characterized by rapid installation, open interfaces and vehicle information security.

Zhai Lixin, director of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, remarked that Zhongguancun is a highland of global technological innovation and a platform for open and shared global innovation and entrepreneurship resources.

More and more international talents have been attracted to Zhongguancun, which demands that the park upgrade its services; which is why Zhongguancun set up the Global Youth Entrepreneurship Platform.

Zhongguancun will provide a professional talent services team and complete supporting services to guarantee that overseas talents can integrate into Zhongguancun and China.

The Global Youth Entrepreneurship Platform is another exploration of Zhongguancun to strengthen the internationalization of talent entrepreneurship.

The Zhongguancun Administrative Committee hopes the platform will accumulate experiences and create new service models for international development.
