In 2015, the labor productivity of China's 147 high-tech zones was 2.9 times higher than the country's overall labor productivity, according to a report released on Saturday.

The Labor productivity of high-tech zones, measured by output per worker, stood at 303,000 yuan (around 45,118 U.S. dollars) per person in 2015, said the assessment report on innovation abilities of high-tech zones.

The report was jointly issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Research Center for China's High-tech Development Zones.

Last year, there were 41 high-tech zones whose output value accounted for more than 20 percent of that of the cities where they are located, the report said.
