Recently, Zhongguancun Hospital has declared it will set up its Council, Board of Supervisors and Standing Committee, which is not only a milestone in the process of exploring 'Regional Construction and Cooperation' and completing the development pattern of public hospital, but also an achievement of the strategic consociation of the Haidian District Government and the Chinese Academy of Science.

The Zhongguancun Hospital, established in 1957, was originally called the 'Xijiao Out-patient Department of Chinese Academy of Science' and, later in 1962, the 'Zhongguancun Hospital of Chinese Academy of Science.’ It was then allocated to the Beijing City Government in 1964 and renamed the 'Beijing Zhongguancun Hospital' and since November 18, 2015, the Zhongguancun Hospital has once again been under the administration of the Chinese Academy of Science.

The Zhongguancun Hospital is a comprehensive 2A hospital, which covers an area of 20 thousand square meters with 14 functional departments and 28 out-patient and emergency departments. The daily number of clinical patients in the hospital reaches to around 1,600 and the yearly number of discharged patients reaches over 5,000.

At the beginning of 2014, the Chinese Academy of Science signed the 'Beijing Zhongguancun Hospital Construction Framework Agreement' with the Haidian District Government. After the framework agreement was signed, the Zhongguancun Hospital began to provide four main services to guarantee the health of researchers from Chinese Academy of Science: green channel, health management, health education and door-to-door service.

On March 28, 2016, the Zhongguancun Hospital Green Channel for researchers from Chinese Academy of Science (Beijing) began to make itself available mainly to Chinese Academy of Science Associate Researchers and above out of the 20,000 employees working for the 43 institutions within Beijing’s Chinese Academy of Science.
