Zhongguancun, China's leading innovative hub, established an Internet Education Chamber at the Zhongguancun Mooc Times Building on March 16, according to BTV.

Under China’s 13th Five Year Plan (2016-20), the chamber aims to practice the "Internet Plus" strategy and develop online education, and improve general services in the Haidian District.

Liu Yang, director of the Zhongguancun Mooc Times Building, said, “There are several thousands of traditional education companies here at the science park and about one third of them are doing experiments in online education,”

"Take the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China for example. If we put their classes online, students from remote areas in China can benefit a lot." said Liu.

Zhang Lifeng is in charge of an Internet education company in Beijing. He said that pure knowledge-based lectures will be put online but "more practical training classes will still be offline". More resources for different classes will also go online, Zhang added.

"At the Zhongguancun Science Park, 32 domestic companies started in online learning through mergers and acquisitions over the past year" said Zhang Aizhi, who works with an Internet education company "Domestic capital is quite interested in the education sector and I think it helps online institutions grow bigger and stronger."
