Jiuhua Mountain Airport to be completed by year’s end
Updated: 2011-07-26

The amount spent so far on Jiuhua Mountain Airport is 330 million yuan ($51 million), or roughly half of the planned investment. The airport is expected to be completed within the year and opened next year.

With a total investment of 609 million yuan, the Jiuhua Mountain Airport is situated in Meilong township, Chizhou city of Anhui province, 20 kilometers away from the renowned Buddhist mountain.

Builders are half-way through completing the project. The terminal, the biggest part of the project, was completed while minor facilities such as steel structures, glass walls, and power systems were still open for bids.

The airport will be available to Boeing 737s, Airbus 320s and other similar planes upon completion next year.
