The second “Mountains, Waters and Sceneries” Photography Contest kicked off in Chizhou on Dec 4. During the four months this event runs for, photographers who take photos at tourist attractions in and around Chizhou will be exempted from admission fees provided they show their Chinese Photographers Society membership card.
As part of the photography contest, photographers are encouraged to focus on nature, culture, food, accommodation, transport, travel, shopping, entertainment and other aspects of Chizhou’s tourism industry. Successful entries will reflect the natural landscape, history, culture, folk customs and the new outlook on tourism in Chizhou since the 11th five year plan. The program will end on February 28, 2011.
The winning photographs will be exhibited during the "two conferences" to be held in the city in 2011, as well as being published and exhibited on the websites of the Chizhou Municipal Government, Chizhou Photographers Association, and the Travel in Chizhou tourism association. The photos will also be shared with other media partners.
On December 4, nearly 100 photographers from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces used photography to record the beautiful natural landscapes of Shengjin Lake, Jiuhua Tianchi Lake, Pingtian Lake and other scenic spots, as well as the huge progress Chizhou has made in tourism and urban and rural development. Such activities are key to raising the profile of Chizhou and play a positive role in publicizing the area.
