Bank to compensate for emptied account

A court in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, recently ordered a bank to pay an account holder compensation of 25,467 yuan ($3,727) after scammers emptied his savings using a fake bankcard late last year.

The city's Xiangzhou district people's court last Wednesday ruled that the bank would have to bear responsibility for the plaintiff's economic loss as it was the bank's responsibility to ensure the safety of its account holders' money.
