Three men arrested by police in Chaoyang district of Beijing said they had tried to avoid committing their crimes in Chaoyang district because the jail food in that district was horrible.

On June 27, they broke the rear window of a car near Lishuiqiao and took a laptop and a cellphone.

Acting on a tip-off, Chaoyang district police arrested the trio last Monday.

They confessed that they picked the Tiantongyuan area to commit the auto heists since May but did not realize that the area is where the Changping and Chaoyang districts meet.
