'Chili king of Henan' spices it up for fame

A man who calls himself the "Chili king of Henan" challenged anyone who dared to a chili-eating contest at the Zhengzhou railway station on Tuesday.

Li Yongzhi, 55, swallowed a plateful of fried chili in front of a crowd of people and challenged anyone to eat more than he could.

Li was on his way to Guizhou and Hunan in search of enterprises that may like to sponsor his chili-eating shows across the country, and hopefully abroad as well.

His aim, he said, was to see his name in the Guinness Book of World Records.
