A former mineworker was recently sentenced to death for making a bomb that killed two people in Jinzhou, Liaoning province, in January.

The bomb, made out of a broken TV set, was meant to explode in the house of a man surnamed Hao, who had an affair with the mineworker's wife.

Instead, it exploded in the house of the driver transporting the bomb, killing his wife and her brother.

The mineworker had asked the driver to deliver the "TV set" to Hao's village home, but Hao's family refused to accept it.

The driver took the TV set back to his house, hoping to return it to the sender the next day.

The TV exploded the same night.
