Locked-in girl, 4, gets extreme jump for free

A 4-year-old girl locked in her fourth floor apartment in Shandong province leaped from the window to land on a soft quilt her neighbors had stretched out for her earlier this month.

The parents of the girl stepped out of their Tengzhou home while she was asleep, thinking they'd be back by the time she wakes up. The girl, however, woke up earlier and tried climbing down the window.

Yang, who lives in the same building, saw the worried girl trying to get to the windowsill and stretched out a thick quilt on the ground to break her fall.

The girl, who was rushed to the hospital, was more frightened than injured.
