15 years jail for woman who killed disabled mom

A woman who killed her physically and mentally challenged mother days before her wedding this year was sentenced to 15 years behind bars on Thursday.

Xia Yaya, 23, a resident of Xianyang, Shaanxi province, fell in love with a man and was to marry him last year.

Realizing her mother, who suffered from polio and schizophrenia, would become a burden on her and her husband, Xia throttled her on Feb 18.
