Last Thursday was supposed to be a big day for haircuts, based on the lunar calendar, but 96-year-old barber Jing Kui of Beijing didn't trim one head.
![]() The second day of the second month is considered the best day for a haircut and is usually a great day for barbers. Born in 1913, he's been working as a barber for 81 years in Beijing, and is the oldest known living barber. More than 400 of his regular customers, including many celebrities, have died over the years and he's left with just about 10 customers a month. He still enjoys cutting hair and was featured in a short documentary that won a prize. "That's why I've lived so long and so healthy," he said. (Beijing Morning Post) |
