Artist builds museum on farm to display her work

A farmer has built an art museum at her home in Yanchuan county, Shaanxi province, to display her work in paper cutting.

Gao Fenglian, 73, learned the skill when she was young, and explained: "Girls were not allowed to go to school when I was little and I wanted to do something, so I learned from my mother and aunt." Gao's works have already been on display in several countries, including the United States, France and Japan.

Gao started on her museum in 2005 and has already turned 6 of her 8 caves into galleries. "I want our folk art to pass from generation to generation," she said.
