Farmer invites hundreds to reunion dinner

A successful farmer held a special family reunion dinner on Tuesday that attracted more than 1,500 farmers in Dongzhiping village of Hunan province.

The village head, Yuan Ruide, spent 200,000 yuan ($29,280) on the 160-table dinner and gave each villager 100-yuan as a gift.

Yuan, who many consider to be a man of charity, has also built a home for the aged, a school and a hospital for local villagers.

Yuan said he couldn't forget his villagers after he became successful with his business.
