The woman's family will be paid 120,000 yuan ($17,570). He Yanfang, 25, was taking a bath in her home in Dongguan, Guangdong province, when she received the fatal electric shock. He's family members then sought compensation after the tragedy when it was revealed that department store workers didn't install the heater properly. (Guangzhou Daily) Police give serial crank caller a wake up call A 16-year-old boy was recently detained after he made 451 crank phone calls to a local police hotline in the Macao special administrative region. Police launched an investigation after they kept getting calls from the same phone line in September. The boy was detained earlier this week when he started to make nuisance calls again. The maximum punishment for such an offense is a year in jail. (Macao Daily) Officer in trouble after cell phone rings at presentation A police officer surnamed Zhang has been ordered to write a self-criticism and may face further scrutiny because his cell phone went off during a presentation. The officer was giving a report about work on the stage during an annual meeting in Beihai, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. Zhang was stopped and asked to step down from the stage by the city's vice mayor and the director of local public security department.
