Man turns to court to retrieve beloved dog

A man took his daughter's friend to court seeking the return of a dog she had given away as a gift in Shanghai.

A local court recently rejected the father's request because his grown-up daughter had signed an agreement with the friend to hand over the pooch.

Fang Fang, the daughter in her 20s, gave the dog and its certifications to a friend, Qiang, in April.

The father, Zhang, asked for the dog back the next day but Qiang refused.
