The Moscow-bound Boeing 767-300, on Delta's flight 30, had 193 passengers on board. It returned to JFK after experiencing engine trouble.

There were some initial reports of fire from one of the plane's wings, but Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Holly Baker said the reports were incorrect.

The passengers were put in another plane to continue their journey, CNN said.
