DPRK to further develop friendship with China

PYONGYANG - An official newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said on Tuesday that the party and people of the DPRK will strengthen and develop their friendship with China.

A signed article carried by Rodong Sinmun said the visit paid by DPRK top leader Kim Jong Il to China in May showed the firm friendship between the two countries.

Further promotion of bilateral relationship and friendly cooperation in the new age is the common wish of the people of both countries and the top will of the party and government of the DPRK, it said.

In recent years, the DPRK-China friendship has been developing without any halt or change in the complicated and changeful international environment, the article said.

Amazing changes and progress have been realized by the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people through great efforts, it said.

The article said the DPRK people would firmly support the just cause of the Chinese people and wish more achievement for China's development, adding that the DPRK-China friendship will be promoted to a higher level with efforts from both sides.
