The paintings, sculptures and installations reveal the process of artists being awaken to the cultural identity by which they find various orientations in the path of art. Featured artists include Zheng Lu, Fan Xiaoyan and Zeng Jianyong, among many others.

The audience will see that these artists do not just copy or reproduce cultural labels people are familiar with. Instead, they explore deep into the core values of Chinese cultural and translate these elements into the social and cultural contexts of today. Their works take on different characteristics and meanings to form a new identity of their own.

The exhibition is a theme show of the ongoing PVG Art Festival 2016, and will end on Oct 23.
