When I unexpectedly encountered Zhou Zhi in the corridor outside his ward in the Sichuan Provincial Tumor Hospital in the southern suburbs of Chengdu, capital of Sichuan on Tuesday at noon, I would never have guessed that he had been buried under rubble for more than five days. The 33-year-old walked and spoke to me quite normally while buying his lunch from a hospital canteen cart.
