Where spicy knows no limits

The latest addition to the South Memory chain offers both a cultural and culinary experience. Dressed with a modern look highlighted by a traditional yet simple bamboo pattern, this restaurant does not forget its origins; nor does the food.

Spicy begins with the cold dishes of liang ban cucumber (RMB8) and radish skin (RMB12) and continues right to the noodles at the end. Their famous duo jiao fish head (RMB48) may look fiery hot though it is one of the few dishes that beginners can handle. The xing yuan ribs (RMB8 for one) may make some scream for ice water while frantically stuffing their mouths full of steamed rice.

However, no matter how spicy the dish may be, you will surely find yourself reaching for another bite. After such an excitingly tongue-numbing meal, try the yang zhi gan lu (RMB18)–a soothing mango and pomelo sago–which will restore and revive your taste buds. Perfect for those who want to walk on the wilder side of Chinese cuisine.
