Not just a little

Not just a little In the crowded world of Sanlitun back street bars, A Lil High has big plans. "The name, it's got nothing to do with smoking, it's about buzz...and we're planning on maybe opening a couple more bars like 'Pretty High,'and 'Really High' says Tian, the manager. For now, though, it's elbowing its way between Cox and the Pure Girl franchise.

Its drinks rank a step above PG ("we only use real deal alcohol," Tian swears up and down) but at RMB10 for a ping of pijiu and pub goodies like chicken strips and fries (RMB15) on offer, it could give Cox a run. It'll at least draw in the hip-hop crowd. If you do stumble in, head straight for the plush purple couches in the back room. And the hookah. You'll be feeling more than a little high in no time.
