Breath of fresh air(That's beijing)Updated: 2007-05-08 10:50 Out of Beijing's claustrophobic cafe scene, rife with disappointments, comes this breath of fresh air.
Panino Teca's assortment of bread is baked daily on the premises and is
dressed up with an exhaustive variety of sandwich fillings. The Crudo sandwich
(RMB 30) on lightly toasted ciabatta is brimming with real Parma ham, soft
mozzarella and sweet, juicy tomato slices. Eating it in the sunshine streaming
through the floor-to-ceiling windows of this casual-chic cafe, you'll want your
Sunday brunch to last all day. Treat yourself to something naughty, and dig into
a slice of black forest gateau (RMB 26). Boozy maraschinos accent alternating
layers of moist chocolate sponge and thick vanilla cream with mascarpone. Chase
it with a cup of full-bodied cappuccino (RMB 22) for a firm full stop to your
meal. Delivery is available, although if you are too far from their location you
may need to pay the taxi fee. |
