The rechristened Pink Home (formerly Home Bar) is renovated, expanded and better than ever.

Despite the elegant make over, Pink Home remains one of the most down-to-earth gay bars you are likely to find in Shanghai or out. Devotees of alternative bars may find the Pink Home crowd quaint, more small town friendly than big city cruising. The interior is open, airy and calm, a pleasant change of pace from the typical dark, den-like nightclub interior. The excellent sound system and expansive dance floor leave plenty of quiet space for conversation away from the throbbing diva house and disco tunes.

Cocktails are affordable (RMB 48) if a tad sweet, and served up by waiters who remember regulars. Look forward to the addition of a restaurant and a boutique hotel in the coming months.
