Travelers are confronted with self-described "Ticketing Hell" at a bus station in Gongguan in Guangdong province. Those who decide to walk instead can choose the "Pedestrain Chenneling."

Locals say the mis-spelt signs for the ticketing hall and pedestrian channels have been up for years, even though many passengers have expressed concern over the alarm they could cause English-speaking tourists.

Signs like these are the target of the new campaigns many cities, including the capital Beijing, have launched to correct misleading and incorrect English signs.
