Club Fusion arrived By Catherine Cook (That's beijing) Updated: 2006-09-18 10:15
Club Fusion has arrived, instantly setting itself apart
from other clubs by enlisting the help of seasoned nightlife veteran ¡°Mr. Wang¡±
as music director. His grand plan for Fusion is to make it home to Beijing¡¯s
house and electronic DJs, and he has already enlisted the talents of Dio and DJ
of the moment, Eddie (organizers of the Morse and Dunt parties, respectively).
Of course, Fusion wouldn¡¯t be able to compete with its
counterparts on Gongti Xilu without the promise of international DJs: US
dirty-house DJs Astro & Glyde have already been confirmed for September, and
one of Beijing¡¯s best-loved superstar DJs, Sasha, returns in October. Fusion
should see Chinese and foreigners partying in harmony ¨C the ground floor is
designed in a similar way to Babyface and Tango, but with a more fluid layout.
The obligatory karaoke rooms are
located upstairs. The second floor is geared towards foreign tastes, with funky
next-century seats and big booths overlooking the dance floor. Perfectly situated at the
next alley down from The Den, two-week old club Fusion is going for the Gongti
jugular and has the additional advantage of being within walking distance of
Sanlitun¡¯s bar area. This, coupled with the experience of Mr. Wang, should give Fusion
the edge over its competition.
Club Fusion Opening hours: Daily 8.30pm-3.30am.
