Frank's Place at Trio

Frank's Place at TrioTo the dismay of many, the original Frank's Place fell victim to axes and bulldozers. But the old joint has now been reincarnated as Frank's Place at Trio.

Located on Jiangtai Xilu, near the Rosedale Hotel, Frank's Place at Trio is a great bet if you enjoy mid-priced drinks, hearty food, flatscreen TVs and a boisterous crowd.

The decor stresses leather and wood, bringing to mind the manly exploits of hunting and logging, perfect for the clientele here. This is a real sports bar, where customers can come for a pint (RMB 25-50) and a game, or maybe a cocktail (RMB 40) in the sun on one of the two patios. A large bar matches the equally large wait staff, some 25 strong (at 5pm no less), who are always lingering in anticipation of serving you your next one. The food might surprise you, with delicious burgers (RMB 55), wings (RMB 30), and steaks (RMB 80) all on offer. It's a classy joint, but not too classy. A nice place to stuff your face and have 5 pints over lunch on a Sunday.
