Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China following the September 18 incident in 1931, the Northeast Anti-Japanese Guerrillas, the Northeast People's Revolutionary Army, and the remnants of the Northeast People's Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army formed the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army. They fought the Japanese aggressors for 14 years and strongly supported the national War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
