Beijing will record the DNA of all homeless children in the capital to help reunite them with their families, the Beijing News reported Thursday.

The police will reinforce patrols in the downtown areas, bridges or underground passages and train stations, and take samples of blood from homeless children.

The report said the police will work with the civil affair department to help the children return home.
