SHIJIAZHUANG- Four people were killed and four others injured after a factory building under construction collapsed Thursday in north China's Hebei province, local authorities said.

The accident happened at about 3 pm at a wine plant in Funing County, some 635 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital of Shijiazhuang.

All of the eight people who had been buried under the debris were pulled out and sent to a local hospital by 5 pm. Four of the victims died at the hospital, while the other four sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the accident is under way.
