5.2-magnitude quake hits NW China's Xinjiang

BEIJING- An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region at 8:48 pm Beijing Time (12:48 GMT) on Thursday, the China Earthquake Networks Center reported.
The epicenter, with a depth of 10 kilometers, was initially determined to be at 38.4 degrees north latitude and 76.9 degrees east longitude, in Shache County, Kashi Prefecture, the center said.
